AW16 Trends that I’ll be wearing (so far)

This sultry style of footwear was seen at shows such as Prada, Fendi, Moschino and Preen. They can be worn with a pair of fitted skinny jeans or leather trousers for a long lean look. Alternatively with a jumper dress or smart mini skirt to reveal a slither of skin.

As adopted by designers at Fendi, Toga and Oscar de la Renta. I’m currently on the look out for a coat and gilet made up of such designs to funk up my minimalistic wardrobe pieces.

Victoria Beckham AW16

Such designs can add feminine allure to minimal looks. Also seen at Paul Smith with a more hip appearance. I’ll be embracing this look VB style with trousers, as worn here, or jeans to add womanliness to more longline looks.


Emporio Armani AW16

This cool, modish way of working with graphics is a fun approach to more sleek looks. I’ll be wearing this style of top over a pair of slimline trousers with some pointed flats or heeled pumps. Accessorised with an oversized textured clutch for a fresh considered look.


Ports 1961 AW16

Capes can heighten an outfit so effortlessly, as masterfully done at Ports this season. Here, a relaxed trouser and trainer look was instantly transformed by a sparkling, iridescent cape design that glistened on the catwalk. This exuberant style was extraordinarily channelled at Alexander McQueen and tastefully minimal at Roksanda and Salvatore Ferragamo.

Eudon Choi AW16

Trousers with slits at the hem can add sensuality to a straight look, as was done at Eudon Choi. These slits were also shown in a shorter style at Victoria Beckham, where a flared fitted style was channeled. Also seen at Aquilano Rimondi and Gabriele Colangelo in more loose fitting and dramatic forms.

I’m a devoted wearer of a (faux) fur stole. And I’ll most definitely continue to flaunt this accessory next autumn/winter. They elevate an outfit and add a luxe feel to a clean look. I love the versatility of such stoles: they can be worn over the shoulder, around the neck, over the arm, across your bag (and in so many other ways). A trend that is here to stay! It was particularly influential at Fendi and La Pointe this season.
